As God gives Jonah a second chance to fulfill his calling, in Chapter 3 of our systematic study of the book of Jonah reveals the richness of the Biblical teaching on "Repentance" and the impact a recommitted disciple has on his world.

Repentance is not just a response to sin, it is also, Biblically speaking, a decision to follow a better way given more information in a situation.  See how this works out for Jonah, the Ninevites, and God as they all "repent" which leads to the glorification of the Lord.
May Holy Spirit speak to you clearly through this message. And may you respond in the appropriate manner according to his prompting.

Everyone experiences the "storms" of life.  Whether they are self-imposed (as in Jonah's case) or they are thrust upon us, we will endure trials in life.  The pessimist fatalistically waits for the Storms to hit thinking, "Life is just the Calm before the Storm."  But the faithful realist knows we he/she encounters a trial that it is just the "Storm before the Calm."

Listen to this message by Dr. McCormick as we continue in our systematic study of the book of Jonah.
Jesus said, "In this world, you will have trouble." (John 16:33)  May Holy Spirit speak to your heart exactly what you need to hear to, either, manage a current storm or prepare for a future one so that as you live in Christ you will have his peace, no matter the "storm."

Who are you?  Well, the short answer is, you are who God declares you are. Sadly, many believe they are who the WORLD says they are.  Of course, the world defines us with all of the wrong superficialities.  This means they re usually wrong in their labeling.

In this helpful message Dr. McCormick breaks down the world's ways of defining us to show the folly of such definitions.  Then we take a look at Psalm 139 to see some of what God says we are.
Listen to this message with your child and grandchildren to help them avoid the pitfalls of letting the world define them, and the blessing of knowing Who we Are in God's eyes.
May God bless you as you resound to His Word!
